Join representatives from the Department of Health and Human Services’ Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response and others Sept. 20 for a webinar on outbreak response and incident management, one of several resources and activities available as part of Outbreak Prevention and Response Week. Other resources include podcasts on outbreak communications and the role of the Hospital Incident Command System. AHA is a partner in the week, sponsored by the Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America. “As recent natural disasters have shown, America’s hospitals and health systems need to be prepared to address all sorts of emergencies,” said AHA Chief Medical Officer Jay Bhatt, D.O. “And while our thoughts continue to be with those impacted by Hurricane Florence, we are reminded that the start of flu season is right around the corner. To help make sure your hospital or health system is prepared for flu season and for other infectious diseases, the Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America is putting out helpful tools and resources as part of Outbreak Prevention and Response Week. The AHA encourages you to take advantage of these materials and to continue to make sure you are prepared for flu season.”
