Boston Scientific says disruption to remote monitoring services resolved following cyber incident
Boston Scientific announced Sept. 8 that the network disruption to its remote monitoring services following an Aug. 25 cyber incident has been resolved. The incident caused a network outage that disrupted access to certain operating systems and business applications, affecting the company’s manufacturing and shipping services. Boston Scientific said that remote activations for cardiac device implant communicators and insertable cardiac monitor remote monitoring can resume. The event did not affect implantable device function, programmer communication with implanted devices, or monitoring capabilities for cardiac devices enrolled in remote monitoring before the disruption, the company said. Boston Scientific said its investigation of the cyber incident remains ongoing.
